Global Survivors Fund

Overview

As Global Survivors Fund continued to grow and expand their work globally, they saw the need of a new platform to host all their projects and documents holding essential information on reparation; everything had to be accessible not only to partner organisations, but also collaborators and survivors alike. This work has been developed as part of the Liquid Light agency.

Duration

Brief

After winning a Nobel Peace Prize, Dr Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad founded the Global Survivors Fund (GSF) organisation in 2018. GSF was created as an aid for conflict-related sexual violence survivors, and a pathway for those to access the reparative measures they deserve. All of their projects are created in collaboration with said survivors because they are the source of truth of what is needed.

Complex documentation

One of the most challenging steps in the UX process was the Work section. Being a global organisation, their work spans across the continents; an aspect which was best displayed on an interactive map. However, each country has different documentation attributed, in multiple languages that were not available in the language switcher functionality. This has been achieved through trial and error, focusing on typographical hierarchy.

In order to maintain accessibility requirements, the map has an additional list view with all the countries listed alphabetically in a table with their respective resources.
